Meteorite Rings For Men
Muonionalusta Meteorite
Each of our meteorite rings is crafted using fragments of the Muonionalusta meteorite - a rare and ancient piece of cosmic history that fell to Earth in northern Sweden around one million years ago. This extraordinary material brings not only timeless beauty but also a profound connection to the very origins of our Solar System.
A piece of cosmic history
First discovered in 1906 near the Muonio River in Sweden, the Muonionalusta meteorite is estimated to be over 4.5 billion years old. This makes it one of the oldest known substances on Earth, formed in the earliest days of the Solar System, long before our planet was fully formed.
Believed to have once been part of a planetesimal’s core (a building block of planets), this meteorite eventually broke apart and travelled through space before its journey ended here on Earth. Over the millennia, it has survived several ice ages, lying buried beneath shifting glacial landscapes until it was unearthed.
The Widmanstätten pattern
One of the most captivating features of the Muonionalusta meteorite is its natural crystalline structure, known as the Widmanstätten pattern. These striking interwoven lines of iron and nickel are revealed through a careful process of acid etching, exposing geometric forms that cannot be replicated by human hands.
Why meteorite rings are so special
Rarity: Genuine Muonionalusta meteorite is scarce and highly prized by collectors and jewellers alike.
Heritage: At an age of over 4.5 billion years, it represents a tangible fragment of the Solar System.
Beauty: The shimmering, geometric patterns are unlike any other natural material used in fine jewellery.
Meaning: Wearing meteorite connects you to the vastness of the universe and to the ancient story of creation itself.
Care & considerations
Because it is an iron meteorite, Muonionalusta requires some care to keep its beauty intact. We seal and stabilise the meteorite used in our rings using a medical grade resin to protect it from everyday wear, ensuring the actual meteorite isn't exposed to the skin or external elements.
With a Muonionalusta meteorite ring, you are not only wearing a piece of jewellery - you are carrying a fragment of the stars, a story billions of years in the making
